Weather is colder and the girls are frisky!

Been awhile since I've posted, not much happening except the girls are getting a bit frisky with temps in high 30's last night, burrhh! Breeze gets her 107 d check on Friday to make sure all is well w/the baby, see u/s pix from August. Arionna is getting a really thick coat already and her legs look really big boned for such a fine boned TB. Sierra is doing super, she loves Breeze, and goes bonkers when I bring the girls in for their snack. I think Sierra is getting much trimmer with these girls in her paddock, or at the very least toned! Working on video transer this week to hopefully you'll be able to see them in action soon. Til then, hasta luego!

OCTOBER mini-news

October is here but it feels like July! Wow-eating my words from the last post here b/c it has been in the high 80's the past week or so and no rain for a month! The girls have been in the run-in shed most of the day and are now getting some hay to compensate for little grass. Breeze looks great hitting her 3 month mark soon, gotta check back on my records to see exact dates of the matchmaking day and Arionna is now getting her winter coat ALL OVER, terrible b/c it's soo hot. Another big day came on Satuday at the farm, I took Arionna out w/a saddle on and a halter for a little 30 minute trail ride behind her barn and she was sore at first then better, I think it will be good thing to tone her up b4 winter comes, she gets a bit stiff from her arthritis and she also has not been ridden in 3 years, beside bback last summer for 5 minutes, I must say she was a SUPERSTAR!

Baby is Fine!

A new week has come and gone, Breeze had her 60d ultrasound and the heartbeat was strong! I could see the little head and 4 legs tossing and turning, I think h/she is very camera shy at this point. I'm considering having a 105d u/s to see the gender of her foal, I know it would be a fun surprise to not know, but it's the 21st century and I'm a new age girl in some ways.
Changing subjects here, those darn cockle burs!! I went out to the barn so mad at a plant is was totally ridiculous and spent 30 minutes cutting back these monsters that are taking away Breeze's beautiful forelock; I felt some relief afterwards, who knew a cockle-b plant could make you have such emotions!
Sierra, Arionna and Breeze are still close pals and whenever I bring in one of my girls to groom and give them some alfalfa forage, Sierra just nickers unit I bring them out again. I suppose they are like her babies, her last baby, Avalon, is 10 minutes down the road and doing fabulous at her training home, she'll have a little surprise when she gets home but I'm sure she'll be happy that her mom has a buddy her age (Arionna-25) and a young one, Breeze (9) to keep her young and happy. Short on time, still figuring out video stuff but be back in a few days to report farm news.
